Are the Summer School academic papers different from those taught in the traditional academic year?
No the subject content, learning outcomes and assessments and examinations are identical, but the teaching methods are adapted to a more condensed time frame and accelerated learning experience. In both configurations and modes of delivery, students will be required to undertake out of class activities to expand and consolidate the subject being studied.

What are credit bearing papers?
These offer the opportunity to earn credits towards university qualifications at AUT. Students earn academic credit for each paper as it is successfully completed. An undergraduate degree requires 360 credits.

Papers carry either 15 or 20 credit points based on the standards AUT 120 credit academic year. Papers included in this category are taken from across the university’s curriculum. All accredited papers meet the high standards necessary for university approval, and have also been approved by external quality organisations such as CUAP.

What are non-credit bearing (NCB) papers?
These short courses offer the opportunity to acquire knowledge or skills in a subject of special interests. They are not assessed and do not earn credits towards university qualifications. However, students will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the course (except for KEYS papers). The length of the course will vary from a one day through to two weeks.
