Community Sport Partnerships

The vision of Sports Partnerships is to position AUT within the local, national and international sporting communities as a leading tertiary education provider in sports science, research and performance and as a leading university where athletes choose to study. In recognising the important role of sport in our communities and the need to provide pathways for athletes, both at the elite and academy level, into tertiary education and to provide opportunities for coaches and the sports community to tap into AUT resources, facilities and services.  AUT has developed several partnerships with:

  • Regional Sports Organisations (Auckland Rugby Football Union, North Harbour Netball)
  • Community Sports Organisations (Ponsonby Rugby Football Club and Northcote Birkenhead Rugby & Sports Club, Te Tohu Taakaro Maori Sports Awards).

AUT is committed to supporting high performance athletes across all sports.  A scholarship programme has been established to support athletes to fulfil their sporting goals without compromising their educational aspirations.
