The AUT Sports Council is an advisory board made up of staff and student representatives. We are a pro-active group and our focus is developing sport as an integral component of the University.

We welcome input from staff, students and the community, so if you have any comments or feedback, feel free to contact the AUT Sport and Recreation Co-ordinator or a member of the Sports Council. We also welcome visitors at our Sports Council meetings.

Vision
To create a vibrant AUT sport and recreational culture through the promotion and development of elite and recreational sporting opportunities to enhance the health and wellbeing of the AUT community on all campuses.

Mission
To provide opportunities for the AUT community to participate in sport and physical recreation at all levels.

Goals

• To develop a vibrant sports culture within AUT which offers a range of indoor and outdoor sports catering for students? recreational needs.
• For AUT to have an increasing number of teams competing in Auckland regional sports competitions.
• For AUT to be placed in the top two universities in New Zealand at the University Games for the next five years.
• To increase the number of participants in social sporting opportunities at AUT.
• To have an increasing number of sport scholarship students actively involved in AUT sporting events.

International Sports Grants
AUT Sports Council has International Sports Grants available to support travel for high performance athletes repesenting New Zealand or the Pasific Nations at the International level both in New Zealand and Overseas.
