
Facilities include language laboratories employing computer-based technology and specialist rooms for computer assisted language learning (CALL).
In our programmes, learning centres on the student, and languages are taught in order to encourage real communicative skills, embracing an understanding of society and culture. There is also a strong commitment to individualised learning so that the student is encouraged to develop personal strategies and skills to ensure an ongoing language acquisition.
The School of Languages and Social Sciences is heavily involved in the international activities of Auckland University of Technology and has developed extensive consultancy work and staff exchanges with institutions in the Asia/Pacific Region.
