The AUT Alumni Association Inc will be holding a Special General Meeting on Thursday 26th June at 11.a.m. in AUT Wellesley Campus, A Block, Room WA608. All members of the Alumni Association are invited to attend.
The purpose of this meeting is to pass a motion on amending clause 19.3.2 of the Constitution. The clause currently reads as
- “Distribute any remaining property to any appropriate organisation or organisations in New Zealand as decided at the Special General Meeting of members of the Association but not for the pecuniary profit or gain of any individual"
Since the Association is applying for charitable status, we need to declare that in case of dissolution all the funds will go solely towards charitable purposes. Hence the recommended change is as follows:
- "Distribute any remaining property to a charitable organisation or charitable organisations in New Zealand, as decided at the Special General Meeting of member of the Association but not for pecuniary profit or gain of any individual".
